Philippians 2:5-11 – From Humility to Exaltation

The resurrection of our Lord Jesus is one of the greatest events that cause Christians to rejoice! But the road to Jesus’ triumphal resurrection was the path of pain, suffering, and humiliation. This sermon addresses what theologians call the two estates of Christ. First, his estate of humiliation, in which he endured all the miseries of life in this world—without sin—including the cruelest death in world history on the cross of shame and suffering. Second, his estate of glory, in which Jesus rose from the tomb triumphant over all of his and our enemies, then ascended to the throne of glory in heaven, where he sovereignly directs all of history toward his triumphant return at the blessed final day!
