Proverbs 13:22 explains a human father’s concern for the future welfare of his children: A good man leaves an inheritance for his children’s children. How wonderful! But imagine in comparison how caring and faithful our Father in Heaven is to leave a good inheritance for his children! Not only is it a great inheritance—God’s presence with us now plus life forever in the blessings of heaven—it is also a sure and certain inheritance. An inheritance that is attained by Jesus Christ, guaranteed by God our Father, sealed with his Holy Spirit and comes with the promise that it can never be taken away. This sermon could be helpful to Christians who struggle with assurance or who might find themselves feeling worn down by the challenges of life.
